TEETH WHITENING

Tooth whitening is a simple and non-invasive procedure to brighten and restore your smile.

We have 3 options for tooth whitening :

Home Whitening
This is a great option if you want slightly whiter teeth. All you need to do is have customised trays made with us. Whitening gel is placed into the fitted tray for you to wear at home. This is worn for 30 minutes a day for 2 weeks.

In-office Whitening
For those who want a much whiter smile, Philips Zoom! is the newest, fastest and most effective in-house technology to whiten your teeth. This is the same system used as seen on Extreme Makeover. Using Zoom! we can whiten your teeth through a high intensity light directed at your teeth for 1 hour. This is all done in ONE single visit.

In-office + Home Whitening
For long lasting and maximum results, the in-office and home whitening is used concurrently. This is recommended for those who have higher expectations and want to achieve maximum whitening results.

Store-bought products may be helpful, but they may have lower concentration so are slow, limited and do not last long.

  • Is teeth whitening safe?

Yes. Clinical studies have shown that whitening your teeth with carbamide or hydrogen peroxide under the supervision of a dental professional is safe for teeth and gums.

  • What are the side effects?

The most common side effect is tooth and gum sensitivity. Your dentist is your best resource to ensure that you are a good candidate for whitening and that you are using the right concentration of whitening formula. We will can include mild desensitising agents, potassium nitrate and Amorphous Calcium Phosphate (ACP), to minimise tooth sensitivity.

  • How is Zoom different from OTC products?

Over-the-counter whitening products are not customised to your needs. With Philips Zoom, the whitening process is tailored to your needs by your dentist, with custom-fitted trays for at-home treatments or just the right light intensity and duration in the dentist’s office.

  • How long will my Zoom results last?

Whitening treatments help to reduce existing stains, but through consumption of coffee, soft drinks or just through natural aging, your teeth may eventually become discoloured again. Maintenance whitening can help to combat recurring discolouration.

  • What causes teeth to discolour?

There are many causes to tooth discolouration. Some of the most common include the consumption of highly coloured foods and drinks (berries, coffee, tea, red wines). Some medications, aging, smoking and trauma can also cause teeth discolouration.

  • How long does it take?

With Philips Zoom, your teeth will be visibly whiter in one day. With Zoom in-office you will achieve up to eight shades whiter in 45 minutes. With our maintenance kit, when used as instructed, you can achieve great results in one-two weeks depending on concentration of formulation and wear time you select.
