Dr Lina Loong studied dentistry at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom under sponsorship by the Malaysian government. She graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Hons) in 2008, obtaining a distinction in her final examinations and was presented with the Charles H. Preston prize and the Preston Medal for the most outstanding results of the graduating class.
Upon returning to Malaysia, Dr Lina served out her government service in hospitals and clinics around Selangor, completing rotations in oral surgery, paediatric dentistry, orthodontics and community dentistry. She values the opportunities these experiences afforded her to serve people from all strata of society and develop innovative ways of providing dental treatment in challenging situations.
Dr Lina has a soft spot for children and the elderly, and finds particular joy in helping her little patients – as well as anxious ones of all ages – feel at ease in her dental chair. She strives to keep up with the ever-evolving developments in the world of dentistry through attendance at various conferences and workshops, and is currently pursuing postgraduate studies in the field of advanced aesthetic and restorative dentistry.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Lina maintains a busy schedule at her church, where she serves in the music and teaching ministries, and where her personal and professional interests have occasionally found happy coincidence in the form of outreaches to the underprivileged. She and her husband are hands-on parents to their three school-going children. In her rare moments of spare time, Dr. Lina indulges in music, baking and long walks with family and friends.
